That c730 sounds good. I was just shopping around for dcams today and was just about to buy the Olympus C4000. Anyone have the C4000 and what are your opinions? I priced it at $499?

Default C730

You can read the review at http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_se...=2&product=889. The camera can be preordered on some web sites but I do not think it will be fore resale until middle to late October.

Can somebody help explain the math to me for this one? The camera claims to be 3.2 mpixels, yet the highest resolution is:
3,200 x 2,400 SHQ JPEG-OIE/HQ JPEG-OIE

I've noticed a few other differences too. There are no 4 "My Modes" instead of 1. I think the "Super Macro" mode is new. There is now a speaker - the C720 didn't have one (no microphone either for the movies). Extra exposure settings. More frames in burst mode (11 vs 5). More white balance modes. Flash working range wider (for closeups). Esxternal flash connector. Optional remote control on the timer. Calendar good to 2099 instead of 2031 (yeah!).

On the downside, no mention of image stabilization on the zoom :-(

Overall, though, a nice replacement for the 720 (which is no longer mentioned on Olympus's web site although you can still search for it and add it to the compare models options).
