Default SP565 and 590

Steves conclusion is not consistent between these. Do they record RAW or not.

Default Response from Olympus

response of 2/4/10 "We value you as an Olympus customer and appreciate the opportunity to assist you with this situation. The SP 565 does record in RAW, but the SP 590 does not. "

So I am still confused, not that I do not believe your Donal, but differing sources are giving differing info. Do you own a 590? Thanks, John McP

The official Olympus product announcement for the SP 590UZ issued from London on January 7, 2009 also listed the specifications. I copied the section on file formats and it is as follows:

File formats
• DCF
• RAW
• EXIF 2.21
• PIM III
• DPS PictBridge
• DPOF
• AVI Motion JPEG
• WAV audio
