Default LCD cover: fake or really good addon?

Hello!
I'm wonderinng if a LCD cover like "da products" is a good addon to protect my camera. does it prevent it from scratcher or from breaking?
Doesn't ir accumulate more dust and all? Is it worth to prevent damages and dust?
Isn't the LCD screen Glass?
By the way? Where can I buy it in Europe?
Best Regards,
Andrea

A relatively inexpensive way to keep the LCD from getting scratched is with clear screen overlays for palm pilots (just cut to fit). You can purchase these in office supply stores. About the other I don't know.

Default also...

Kayd, great idea!

I also found a similar product of clear screen overlays made for different LCD screen sizes. Works great, so far, and I even trimmed one to fit the little screen on top of the c-2100.

Darby :-)

I've just bought a da products screen for and I'm a bit wary about using it. The adhesive bonds to the camera lcd screen on the left and right margins only- so I can envisage a bit of dirt getting into the space between the protector and lcd from the gaps at the top and bottom. The idea of a dirt sandwich is making me look for a palm pilot type film.

Before I discovered the palm pilot overlay I scratched my 3030 LCD, the first thing that went on my new 5050 was the overlay. If you get a bubble when applying it. . .ta da. . .change it. Cheap and works great.
