Default Kodak H512MB XdPicture card doesn't work in Olympus D-535

it is a "BRAND NEW" sealed card from 2007 (OEM is Samsung), I get "CARD ERROR" every time I try to use it in the camera, a Win 7 PC read it fine. Tried formatting it with PC at both 8K & 16K clusters FAT16, even completely deleting partition. The camera is like brand new

Also the users manual says "..up to 512MB"

if this card won't work, would this card from B&H work (even though it's 2GB?)

Thank You

2GB, I haven't used anything that small for so long I can't remember, my smallest cards are 32Gb.

Just because it is new/wrapped does NOT mean it is fake

Have you BEEN to a camera shop and asked them to try one

The camera is available for 10, if faulty throw it an upgrade

BOY are we travelling back in time, Windows 7, Fat16, next you will be saying it only has 8Mb of RAM, sounds like a superb (in a good way) collectors item

Finally cards should ALWAYS be formatted IN THE CAMERA not the PC

JR1, in the absence of moderators, I would like to appeal to your sense of decency, and cease your condescending tone with people who sincerely need help/advice. Belittling folks because they don't possess the knowledge you seem to have does nothing to help solve their dilemma. You may mean well, but you come across to me like an ass.

ThankYou JR1 and Hawgwild & all the rest of you guys - no offense taken when JR1 "dated" my (friends) antique "medicore at best , half rotten point & squirt camera" it gave me a chuckle - and and I can barely keep track of the different FAT schemes,,, I actually got interested in PC's right at the end of the Atari craze in 85 , but most of it seems like a blur - I actually opened a PC shop 1993 & rode it into the ground until thoroughly bulldozed by Dell,Fry's and Google "saving the Day-ta" - but I still do support for good people occasionally and need refreshment (when it's of use) in now seemingly antique systems more than 10~20 years old.

That formatting util seems like a pretty logical try, considering the camera says and does nothing with the card in, except say "card Error",,, but the guy said he's going to give the camera back to the guy who sort of gave it to him & stay within at least the last 5 years in digicam land. one less little problem

thanks again
