Default Help me with picking out a camera PLEASE!?

Okay, I know this must have been asked a thousand times before. But I need to know whether its OLYMPUS or not, I need a camera is capable of handling really tight shots (macro I guess) of watches, earring and things like that. I also want it to be able to handle taking pictures of the birds outside on my trees on my property. I dont need it to have video or sound.

Any ideas??

thanks

Just to be contrary I'll say buy a used Nikon 990 or 4500 and a telescope. Either camera will focus down to less than one inch for your jewelry photos.

If you don't want to put a lot of money in a camera, I'd suggest a used or refurbished C-2100 ultra zoom camera. Here's a couple of examples:

A 10x stabilized zoom is great for taking pics of birds, too!

I just picked up one for my pastor's wife on eBay for $300!

I think the critical question is this; how close can you get to the birds in your trees? The photo posted by LG above was probably from a distance of less than 20ft. The 2100 UZI is a highly regarded camera but a 10x camera won't get you much of a picture of a small bird 30ft away.
