I'm thinking of buying the new Oly 8080 beacause I need a compact sized camera with BULB. My problem is that I read somewhere that I need the B-HLD30 batery holder to remotely trip the shutter. Can anyone tell me if this is true! can I use the remote control bunbled with the camera to do this? if so, do I have to press the remote control button for 8 minutes if I want to do such a long exposure?! Thanks

If the manual is correct, you do not need the B-HLD30 battery holder to remotely trip the shutter but you will need to hold the remote button in bulb mode.

Hope this helps.

From what I have read....although I haven't heard of anyone actually trying it... if you hold down the shutter release on the remote you will be able to use the bulb feature as well. Although you will have to make sure not to change the angle of the remote to the camera to much and might eat through the little coin battery in a hurry as well.
