I just ordered a Olympus 8080 from Beach Camera for $762 (free ship). Been looking and reading for weeks and I really am tired. I hope I bought the right camera from the right place. I have been using a Sony s85 I have had for the last year or so and I liked it a lot, but it was just too slow and I wanted better movies of the grand daughter. I am going to buy memory after I get the camera and that will be another bit of looking. Any advice on memory type and size would be appreciated. Thanks, Lonnie (loneaux)

Always check the store's rep at resellerratings.com.

I actually like xD, but CF is cheaper and enjoys broader support if you switch cameras in a year or two. I don't recommend microdrives.

I purchased an extra card with my C8080, the Sandisk Ultra II 256mb. I now wished I got the 512mb, but my budget was already stretched. Sandisk also give lifetime warranties with their cards but you have to register personal details etc.

Any CF card will work fine with the 8080. The 8080WZ does not support high speed or WA technology, so save your money and buy just the standard rated CF card. Stay away from XD card, easy to lose, higher price on both card and reader.

Cheers

I just tried to say a bunch of stuff an dthe picture I wanted to send was too big and all the stuff was erased. So now I'll just try a smaller picture. Thanks for the help and memory advice. I feel more confident. Lonnie
