There are so many diferent compact flash cards out there, with very different prices on them. So, now I know I don't need a high speed one, but I was wondering, for the people who have the C-8080, ldo you find that any one compact flash card is better than another?

Thanks! I am learnings lots reading this forum. What a great place!

I bought the Sandisk Ultra II 256mg and has so far worked well. I intend to add another card but will probably go for the basic Sandisk card but with more memory. How are you enjoying your C8080

Viking 512 MB CF card is on sale at Amazon
for about $89 with a $35 rebate.
I just got one and it works ok.

That didn't seem clear. The net price after
rebate is about $54

Thanks for the tip on the Viking! I am hoping the Viking is as good as the SanDisk.

I just bought my second Viking 256MB CF card (through Amazon with rebate.) I've beenvery happy with the card in my Oly C-5060. The camera seems to write to it fairly quickly, too.

You can find Sandisk Ultra II 512 for under $100 on Ebay.

Something to consider...

Good luck

I've been using the Viking 512MB CF card on my c8080 and it's been working well. For the c8080, it doesn't pay to buy a high speed, costly CF card, because the darn camera's bandwidth to the CF storage cards is maxed out at about 1.5MB/sec. That's why it takes 10-12 seconds to write a RAW format image to CF and 22 seconds for a TIFF format image.

I have the Olympus 256mb card. Don't know if the others have the panoramic feature like that one. Beware problems with some cards - Steve has written about it.

Hello! I am quite new to this forum, so please don't kick hard =)

I tried searching this forum, but i found no answer.

Anyways, I recently bought c8080 (excellent hardware) and Apacer 512meg CompactFlash card. When i try to view pictures stored on this Apacer card, c8080 would sometimes crash (shutdown)- screen goes black. This only occurs during view/scrolling/preview, no problem when saving. Also, no problem occurs when i try to do the same with XD card that comes with this camera. Is this a problem with my Compact Flash card or with CompactFlash slot/camera?

Danke very much =)
