Default 2011UZ or C720

After months of research I had decided to purchase a 2100UZ. Then I noticed that Olympus has come out with the C720. Now what do I do? Is the 3mp worth the trade of of image stabilization? I have never owned a digital camera, so I would like to know what experienced users think. Thanks in advance.

Don't worry! You WON'T be disappointed with the C-2100. Take a look at CNET's User Opinions on the C-2100. 97% of nearly 300 users gave it a "thumbs up." Besides, if you go with the 720, you'll lose the batteries and charger, the NICE RM-1 remote, and the fantastic 10x digitally stabilized lens.

Ahmen! Biggest mistake Olympus ever made was to drop the C-2100UZ. The C-700 and C-720 are poor excuses for a replacement. We just reviewed the C-720 and I'll keep my C-2100 thank you very much.

In the insane world of digicam makers and vendors the C-2100 just cost Olympus too much to make as the bottom began dropping out of the 2-megapixel prices. Same thing happened to them with the excellent (and incredibly fast) E-100RS, they lost a lot of money on that one because all people saw was the 1.6 megapixel on the label -- they missed the 15 frames per second capture rate -- which not even the Canon EOS 1D can match.

Default Thanks

Thanks, that's really what I expected to hear. I have looked at a lot of 2100 user comments and everyone seems to really like that camera.

Default Nancy: Re: C-2100 uz

Hey Nancy,

Does your comment mean you are sorry you sold your 2100 to your brother, LOL?

By the way, congratulations on your POTD for "My Little Catcher"! I knew that shot was a winner the second I saw it, and wow, what a kudo to the E-100's ability to capture excellent portrait shots as well as action!

Viewing your photos is always a pleasure.

Regards,

Willa

Where do you order a C2100 at a reasonable price? After weeks of reading I have decided to buy that camera also.

Thanks,
Beatrice

Default Where to buy C-2100?

Wal-Mart carries them for $499.96. I saw one demo left at my local store. You may have to check around your area for a Wal-Mart that still has one.
