I'm about to buy one of the 8 megapixel prosumer cameras, but am stuck in choosing between the Olympus 8080 and the Nikon Coolpix 8700. The problem is that in reviews the Olympus seems to come out top nearly every time - except for macro work, for which the Coolpix is highly rated. I specialise in macro work of insects and such like (you can see samples at http://www.pbase.com/lynkos), so want a high macro performer, but I also rate lens quality and resolution very high and this seems to be a prerogative of the Olympus. Any advice on this? Thanks a million, Sarah

Take a look at this website: http://www.thomas.photoshare.co.nz/

The photographer uses 8080.

I bought it myself in part because of the macro capabilities. The lens is of very high quality.
