Hi, I own an olympus c-770. I would like to have the date imprinted on the photos, just like film cameras have the date printed on the negatives. How do I achieve that?

The camera itself can't do it...you'll have to do it via software.

Actually, every picture that the camera takes has the date encoded IN the picture (as long as you don't edit it)...it's called Exif info and it also records things like shutter speed used, F-stop, zoom position, etc.

Also the date is encoded in the standard file system (again as long as the image isn't edited).

BTW, you should only edit COPIES of your pictures, don't edit the originals (in case you goof, you have the original to go back to).

So you mean that I have to put in the date for each image, or is there any software (preferably freeware that I can download from the internet) that will put the date from the exif info onall the images. I have hundreds of photos, see.
