A friend asked me to reset resolution on a C-750 to TIFF for better input to PS7. You cannot set it in Auto. That's OK. You can set TIFF in the P-Mode. But once the camera restarts after shutoff, it defaults back to a JPG compression setting. Can it be made persistent?

Also, the optical zoom is only operative in AUTO on the mode dial. Does that sound right?

I could not find this topic addressed in a search.

Thanks in advance

I don't have A C750 but I believe that if you look in the setup menu you will find a setting for reset to faatory defaults. Make sure that it is set to off.

rkasprzak,

Indeed you are correct. I mistook the 'all reset' to be a bailout button. With that in the Off state, a mode setting of P allows persistent TIFF. Thankyou.

Zoom is not active in any mode setting other than Auto. I assume the camera goes to the zoom focal length with minimal distortion, but disallowing the zoom on anything but Auto seems draconian. I guess it is a side-effect of a consumer oriented camera. It does a good job all things considered.

Thanks again.

Vince

In the C720UZ I can getonly optical zoom in tiff, on the P/A/S/M setting, to use digital zoom I have to go to jpg in auto or one of the other modes. O.K. with Me, I never use digital zoom anyway. BTW, OLY is closing out the C210 TC lenses, $39.95 USD, got one on the way, I think it may work on a 750 too.

Hi vlubbers!

You seem to have a faulty camera. The optical zoom should work in all modes except Super Macro.

I've just tried it on my C740, and this is confirmed. Download the Ref file from olympus for the C750, and I think you'll find the C750 is the same as the C740.
