How good is the video recorded on the c770? I've seen the samples in Steve's review and was NOT impressed by the MPEG4 compression: sure the file size is much smaller, but it seems like the quality is far inferior to the Canon S1 IS or the Minolta z3. In fact the other sample in the review seemed much better - even though it was 15fps.

Can anyone c770 owners defend its movie taking abilities? I really need a digicam that can take good video and am a fan of the UZI series (they have a great, solid, professional feel to them). But to me it seems like Olympus concentrated on getting quantity rather than quality in its video mode.

My alternative is the Canon S1 IS (I'd feel guilty about buying a 3mp camera nowadays though!)

I don't use my 770's video capability much, but if mpeg 4 isn't up to snuff, just use its' other formats available. They take up more memory but should be as good as any out there.
