Can anyone recommend a decent telephoto extension lens with somewhat higher magnification than 1.4X the Olympus TCON-1.4d would provide? Thanks.

Here's Raynox's C-8080 page which includes their DCR-2020Pro on the C-8080 (click the picture of the lens for sample images):
http://www.raynox.co.jp/english/digi...80wz/index.htm

The issue with the C-8080 is the large diameter wide lens which causes vignetting issues...if you look at the samples, especially the pics of the white bricks, you can see the situation. That's why Olympus only has a 1.4x converter for the C-8080.

Thanks Mikefellh...what a great page to illustrate the problem! Does that mean that the Olympus 1.4X converter does not cause vignetting?

I personally can't speak for the 8080/1.4x situation...I'm actually a C-700 user who uses a Raynox DCR-6600Pro. Olympus is a company that usually makes sure the lenses they recommend are 100% compatible with specific cameras...there were a few lenses they say are compatible with later C-7xx cameras, but not with the C-700, C-720, & C-730 due to image quality issues.

check http://www.raynox.co.jp/english/digital/z3/index.htm

I'm impressed about the high quality lens for the minolta dimage Z3,

the equivalente lens for the C-8080 produce a high vigneting frame! while only the fish eye do some slight vigneting to de Z3

Maybe this is caused by the less zoom in the C-8080?

look at the MSN-500 Super Macro in the Z3 (¬°¬°AWESOME!!)
