I have a 2100 that has worked great until now. When I turn it on, I just get a blue screen that says "card error". I have tried several cards repeatedly, and I have tried different batteries. I cannot format the card because I get no response when I try the menu button. It will only show the blue screen. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about that. I've found these cards are very sensitive, and others have remarked the same. I assume you've wiped the cards (I usually use a cotton T-shirt.) I wonder if there was a way to clean the contacts in the camera without disassembly? Some one posted dis/reassembly procedures in here, and unless someone comes up with a solution, you'd really have nothing to lose.

Try this...

Insert and remove your card several times.

It may be your card slot within the camera and not the media.

I had same prob with a 2100 I had and putting media in/out several times cured the problem.

You can check your cards in a card reader. If you can read them in a good quality card reader, then it is not the cards.

Good luck

Thanks for the replies. I did try several cards and I cleaned each one of them. Finally I wiped some alcohol on a card and put it in the camera while it was still damp - moved the card in and out a few times, then gave it time to dry. It seems to be working now, so maybe it was just dirty contacts in the camera.
