can anyone enlighten me on the subject ....

there is a dial at the top that lets you choose sport, landscape, portrate etc ... I understand what they do but then there is also the same set of modes available from the menu is you are in P or M ... what are those? what do they do?

I remember I read that in landscape mode olympus enhances the blue and green color ... true?

should I better not use any of the preset modes but M, A or S?

Read the manual that comes w/ the CD. You can use the mode dial to make the various external buttons access different, custom features according to 3 or 4 pre-sets. Just a source of confusion to me, but some users might think it useful.
