I am contemplating buying one of the two add-on lenses that are
available for the 8080. More than likely this'll be the wide one. My
question is can the CLA-8 adapter be left on all the time or will it
(as I suspect) interfere with the use of the lens hood and filters? I
have only seen pictures of the 8080 with adapter and lens, not just
the former. Another point are both lenses worthy additions in terms
of quality as bought with the CLA-8 represent getting on for half I
paid for the 8080 in the first place? I could buy a 24-200 zoom for
my film SLR for not much more!

Designed for use at wide angle, the lens barrel will extend beyond the edge of the CLA-8, so it will contact any filtes or accessory lenses on the CLA-8, in which case the camera powers down automatically to rpevent damage to the drive motor.
