I have the c5500, I am having problems with the auto focus, the camera takes anywhere between 2 to 8 seconds before it lets me take a picture, this is very slow, and I miss a lot of good shots any suggestions?

I tried it indoors, in my home. the above lights were on , in auto mode. It took anywhere between 2 & 8 seconds between shots. Any help? I would greatly appreciate.

Was your AF Illuminator activated?

The red focus light was blinking, so I assume thw camera was working correctly, I just don't know why it is taking so long?

Graben,

Thanks for answering all the questions about your C-5500.

My Question:

What file types can the camera record/save photos as?

Is there an uncompressed option?

Thanks,

D

Hi marcbalt, since you're indoor and in auto mode, you may need to use your flash. Did you pop up your flash? Red light is usually associated to flash. When you press shutter button to half, do you see orange light in front of your camera? It's the AF illuminator and it can help you to autofocus in low-light conditions. If not, see in your setup to activate it.

Thanks a lot for the photos!

It really looks like a GREAT camera!

yes, Olympus cameras like to have colors somehow understated. But you can easily correct this in camera or in Photoshop - a simple Saturation adjustment works wonders!

You got yourself a great camera, and I'll order it this summer, for sure!
