Default a camera faster than my c3000 zoom

Hi,

I'd like to request your opinions before I make my final decision.

I have just sold my c3000 zoom and would like to replace it with something that will take pictures faster (faster shot-to-shot I think it's called) but with the same or better picture quality that I used to get from my c3000.

I also don't really need all the advanced functions and controls the c3000 had, so I want to find something simpler within the $600 price range.

Any suggestions?

There are several factors that slow the process from shot to shot.
1. If you are using a flash, the flash must recharge before you can shoot the next shot.
2. Batteries will affect the shot to shot process.
3. Picture preview can be shut off to speed the process up between shots.

The C50, 5mp, 3X optical may be the camera you are looking for. You can purchase on the web for about $500 or from one of the outlets (Circuit City, Best Buy, etc) for $600. Go to one of the outlets and test it.

I'm coming to the realization that I'll probably have to accept shutter lag as a fact of life when it comes to digital cameras. I'd read about the factors affecting shutter lag before, but I guess I was hoping there had been some improvement since my last camera. I got the C-50zoom last night. I'm VERY disappointed. This camera takes awful pictures. My C-3000 was much better in terms of image quality. The pictures from the C-50z are consistently grainy or out of focus, even without zoom. It also has terrible red-eye problems. And shutter lag is worse than in my old camera. I think I will return it and get a C-4040 or something like that. I've read many of your comments praising the C-4000 cameras and I think I'll try that.

Nora
I own the C4040 and you can see my family Thanksgiving pics at:
