I've been looking and looking and can't find where I read about making an external battery pack for the olympus Cxx series. It was quite a long post with pictures and everything and now I'm lost !!

Thanks a lot. Quite helpful but a little bit too complicated for me :?

There was a similar one somewhere else where the voltage was 4.8 V using four AA NiMH batteries.

Guess will have to keep on looking, but thanks all the same.

Why would you want to make an external battery pack using tiny AA cells ?

If you're going to build a nice battery pack at least use "C" size NiMH cells, they have about 10 times the power per cell of AA size batteries. There are also many prebuilt battery pack alternatives out there for most popular digicams.

You can findbatteries, chargers and battery holders here:

Hi Steve, thanks for your kind attention. Yes, I agree with you, AA batteries would be rather a compromise. The way to go would be by using size C batteries at least. The post in question is really and truly lost, I,ve had a look at other external battery packs and am quite impressed with one on this site. Cheers.
