Default 730 pictures, what do yer reckon

Went out taking photos in Snowdonia, North Wales. First proper outing with my Hot Pixel Mapped 730.

What do you think of the quality of these photos bearing in mind massive compression and resizing.

Thanks for the comments. I always find it difficult to assess my own pics. I think you tends to be over critical with your own pics. Perhaps it's a confidence thing.

Anyway I think my 730 is doing the business now and the pics are pretty nice and clear of noise.

Steve

Very nice photos. Do you have a polarize filter for the camera?

I do have a polarising filter but I didn't use it for these photos. In fact I've not had it long and have never used it yet.

I've been concentrating on getting rid of the noise. I think I have success now so time for some serious efforts and to try out that polarising filter.

I was curious how the polarize filter would work with the snow scenes. In El Paso TX we do not receive much snow or fog.

Compression aside, those were reaaly nice shots! Some were obvious snap shots but many of them were post card material. Looks like you had a nice time. Some of the snow scenes showed not enough interesting material, just lots of white. I liked the ones where there was snow but also other items of interest, color and contrast. Also, I was always taught to open up a little on snow so it looks reaqlly nice and white. The water shots were absolutely breathtaking. Thanks for sharing those.

There's a few examples of long zooms (with the C-700) at this site:

The three steeple pictures by "mikefellh" are mine and they were done handheld without a tripod.

- We have a C-700/720/730 Yahoo group if you're interested in asking any questions:
