I've seen Steve's sample pics and they look horrible! Oversharpened, ISO 800 + 1600 noisy as hell, and what's that about ISO 2500? Is Olympus out of its mind?

I'm definately erring towards the F10 now. The 800 dropping to 4mp at 800+ ISO isn't a massive problem for me, but is a concern. I also note the video is only 15fps. While not a priority for me, after seeing the mov clip on Steve's review it looked pretty ropey.

Steve and wickcasa-

The olympus Stylus 800 is just about equal to the Fuji F-10 speed wise. I have no complaints at all about the ISO 800 and 1600 shots at 4mp. All in all I like the Stylus 800

Here is a sample no flash ISO 1600 shot at 4mp. Auto white balance handled those flourescent lights quite well

According to the EXIF, this image was taken using a manual (versus Auto) white balance setting.

Jim-

I did not realize that the WB was in manual. I will retake the photo with the WB is auto.

In the meantime, here is a Fuji F-10 photo with the WB in auto.

How do they get all the big camera features in that small package? The pics are amazing!

Thanks all. I went for the F10 over the 800 in the end. The 30 fps video ability and the 8080 dropping to 4mp on 800+ ISO swung it for me.
