you know, for someone who knows how to use a manual camera, the 5050 holds no real setting advantages over the 3000. All you really need (as far as options are concerned) is aperture priority, shutter priority and a good metering system. I have not been in a situation where the 3000 did not shine in, except fast sports, where unfortunately the 5050 is not that much better, read: same lag, same metering slack.

I agree, neither one is very good at fast action shooting. C-5050Z is decent if you can hit something right at 1/1000th shutter speed. C-5050Z also focuses faster.

you know what i found out is really stupid? the 5050 ONLY SHOOTS IN RAW FORMAT. That means that it shoots raw, then saves as tiff or raw or jpeg. This IS stupid, because it doesn't let you shoot any more than 4 shots in a row in hi-speed, no matter what rez you set up :twisted:
