I am going to Alaska in about a month and i have a C-5500. Does anyone have any suggestions for some preprogrammed "My Scene" settings? I will have about 2.5 GB in cards so resoulution is not a problem. So far I like it - I almost purchased a Fuji 5100 but went with this since I have a D-540 and a 4 year old bullet proof C-3020 - I kinda like the Oly's. Any suggestions on outdoor scenery settings would be helpful.

Hi lynn: The C5500 will be an excellent traveling companion for your trip. For now, take a lot of photos before you go, to get familiar with the camera and look at the results of different settings.

I recommend that you try the "landscape" mode and the "landscape + portrait" mode; they will probably be very useful for your trip.

Also, try diferent adjustments on your "sharpness", "contrast", and "saturation" menus. Adjust the values, and compare the results. I recommend trying the contrast at "+1", and the saturation at "+2" and go from there. Each can be set toyour liking, and eachis adjustable over a range of -5 to +5.

Have fun with your camera, and take plenty of extra xD cards.
