Default Had virus on my SmartMedia card.........

Ok, my puter was infected by several nasty virus' thanks to a foster kid who did not listen to me about downloading crap. Computer is all fixed ( reformated) and today I took a pic with my UZI and popped the Smart Media card in the reader........ virus scanner popped up and showed me one of the nasty virus'. It was quarenteened and deleted but I wonder if I should reformat the card now. How do I do that in the camera? My instruction book is packed away someplace and I got no idea where. Also, this virus.... it won't effect the camera will it?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you should reformat the card asap.

Make sure you format the card in your camera, not in the card reader. Accidentally formatting a SmartMedia card in a card reader rendered it unuseable in my camera.

Can someone tell me how to reformat the card in the camera? I don't remember how and my instruction book is MIA.

You can download the manual in PDF format here:

http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/...al_English.pdf

It's described on page 42 of that manual.
