Just a fyi, with the Lens Tube mounted (55mm thread), there is quite a bit of shadow with the 7070 set at 28mm,and very slight amount at 35mm. Tube is very well made, and I was hoping to have it on all the time for protection. Oh well, another excuse to get an external flash unit :G

fwiw I also got a Phayee petal lens hood (plastic), so far I'veNOT noticed any [email protected] 28mm.

Will post some pics later.

unfortunately a bit of corner shadowing is a problem with many of the tubes...IFEEL your pain...I have an older c-3040

and yes an external flsh is wonderful

the fl-20 can be had on ebay for about 80

GO WITH AN OLYYMPUS DIGITAL FLASH AS THE OTHERS DON'T WORK WITH THE INTERNAL SETTINGS AND YOU WILL HAVE TO USE THOSE flashes IN THE CAMERA'S MANUAL MODE....THE FL20 ACTS LIKE AN EXTENSION OF YOUR CAMERA'S LIGHT AND WORKS IN THECAMERA 'S AUTO MODE as it reads the flash via the pins on the hot shoe

Now I have a question for you....does the wreless remote available for there other models work with yours? as the 7070 doesn't come with a remote and I was thinking of upgrading my camera....also how well does the camera work in low room light?

thanks

gregg

They also have a plastic petal lens shade ($12 iirc). I've not had any problems with it even at wide angle ... sort of gives it a 8080jr look

The optical VF gets blocked quite a bit though.

Built-in flash with the petal hood is quite useless. obviously!
