Default Noise Reduction mode on Olympus C-50????

Steve says the Olympus C-50 has no noise reduction mode. Olympus told me it did. Anyone know?

Both Steve and Imaging-Resource reviews state that the C-50 does not have noise reduction. The manual (in PDF format) from the Olympus website for the C-50 does not mention noise reduction. If it were an available feature, then there'd be an entry in the manual describing it and how to enable it--at least it's that way with my C-4000.

So, I'd say that C-50 does NOT have a noise reduction feature.

I read all the tech specs on www.olympusamerica.com and they did not mention any noise reduction settings.

Jerry, I also should tell you that I just did an exhaustive comparison of the C50 vs. the D40, and chose the D40. The D40 has so many more features than the C50, features that you may well wish you had in a year, if you get more interested in digital photography. Reading this forum tends to do that to you, and you start wanting more capability from the cam. I thought the D510 would be all I would need a year ago and now wish that I had gotten the D40. However, not all is lost. My daughter is salivating at getting a free digital camera!

The only reason I can see to get the C50 is if you really place a premium on it's slim design. It definitely is less bulky in a pocket, and in all fairness to Olympus, they probably had to leave out features to get it that slim. Think hard and long about this though, because, it sure seems that a lot of folks want more features eventually. $399 for a D40 at buydig.com.
