The other day I plugged the wrong ac adapter(greater voltage) into my camera. The screen went white and I immediately unplugged it. After this my camera will not turn on. I do know that my battery will no longer hold power, but I don't know if this is the only problem. I don't want to send my camera in to Olympus if all I need is a new battery, but I also don't want to buy a new battery if my camera is ruined. Just wondering if anybody knows anything about this. Thanks!!!

Have you tried using the correct adapter to check if the camera is still working?

I believe most cameras can take a certain level of over voltage as they have regulators in the circuits. Perhaps the voltage of the incorrect adaptor was too high for even this circuit to handle.

Yes, I did plug the correct adapter in, still won't turn on. I guess all I can do is send it into Olympus. I'll give it a couple more days and see if anybody has an idea. Thanks!

Hey there,

Is there a camera store in your area? Perhaps if you take it to them, they can give it a 'quick look see' and give you a better idea of what the problem is.

Good luck. I hope the answer is simple and cheap.

Don't forget to breathe!
