Has anyone with a 5060 experienced problemswith the buttons, all except ok and pic preview, not working, intermittantly? Sometimes I press OK and the menu comes up but I cant navigate with the directional buttons, flash and exposure method buttons dont work either. Sometimes I press OK and several menus come up in a row. My 5060 is about 6 months past the one year warrrenty.

Type "C-5060 problems" into a search engine. You'll find many sites where this is discussed.

Wow! You have described the exact same symptoms that have just developed in my year old 5060. I have found that changing memory cards seems to correct the problem for the rest of the days shooting. I have a feeling that there may be a firmware problem that re-sets itself after recognizing a different memory card. I have also found that completely removing the battery and leaving it out for a couple of minutes also helps. I'm going to check on line for any solutions.

From what Ive been able to find on the internet, this is the 'mode dial problem' and Olympus knew about it back in 2003! Yet they want to charge me $160 to fix it.

Olympus used to be a great complany, what happened to them?

"...Olympus knew about it back in 2003..."

Olympus knows about it all right, but they will never admit it and take responsibility. Yeah, it's not the sort of sleazy conduct one would expect from a company like Olympus.

Have you guys tried a new battery to see if that solves it? Lower battery voltage can cause odd issues, and they don't last forever.

When I start hearing things like a camera working with one memory card, and not with another, I suspect either faulty memory cards/connections, or a power related issue (one card may be pulling more current compared to another).

I'd try cleaning all electrical contacts in case a bit of oxidation built up is impacting connections (memory cards, battery). Sometimes, just removing and reinserting cards a few times can help clean their contacts.

I'd also use all dials, switches and buttons in case a bit of oxidation under one is causing an issue.
