Default olympus wide angle

I am gong to be buying a wide angle for my 5050. I am keen to get the olympus 0.8, but wuold really like something wider. Does anyone know if other brands' wide angles like sony, canon and nikon will give me any problems in quality? I know there are wider lenses from them in 43, 46, 52 and 55mm threads.
Can i use them?
Has anyone tried it?
Any help or input would be great.
thanks in advance.

Although these examples are on the C-2100, it's a good starting point to learn what's out there and the downsides:

try www.raynox.com. I have a telephoto lens from them and am very pleased with the results.
