Default can I use smartmedia card from Fuji camera in my Olympus?

I want to borrow a friend's smartmedia card from his Fuji and use it in my Olympus and want to make sure that it will work.. It is just a matter of sticking the card in my camera and then formatting it???

Also, when I am done with it, does he just need to format it in his Fuji to make it work for him again?
Thanks,

That is all you should have to do.

One of my SM card was originally bought for my Fuji. I now use it in my Olympus with no problems.

Yes, I have a FujiFine Pix 2400z and the Smart Media cards I bought for that camera, I now use in my C4000. There has been no problem. The only thing you can't do is the Panoram shots with cards that are made by Olympus.
