The manual provides no information. I'm looking for a 1GB or 2GB card for my C-7070 for vacation traveling. Will the C-7070 be able to utilize the faster write speeds (40x?) of the Lexar WA cards?

Should I get a CF-II card, or is the CF card adequate?:?

40x is more than enough, C7070 beeing kind of a sluggish camera. The only benefit I can see is to transfer faster the photos to your computer, using a speedy card-reader.
The CF type doesn't matter, for 2GB and much more you can find easy flash based, not microdrives.

Thanks for the info. I'm now considering a portable storage device (Vosonic or Wolverine) that would provide 40GB or 60GB of storage for less than the price of a 2GB CF card.

The card reader/portable hard drive would also allow me to load photos from wife's Olympus Stylus xD card. That camera doesn't accept CF cards, so the hard drive is the only alternative to more xD cards for it.
