Default olympus c4000 vs. powershot s30

hi, im trying to find a camera for taking low light pictures and also macro pics, and also just normal outdoor stuff. im planning on sending pics to agfa also..ive never had a digicam, and im looking at the powershot s30's and olympus c4000's. ive got about $400-$420 to spend on the camera itself. any ideas? which is better? olympus or canon?

the canon samples i saw on this site were brighter and just better, even though its 3 mp instead of the 4 on the olympus(?). any ideas or other $400 digicams to look at? thanks alot, see ya

You are not likely to find anyone on this board or elsewhere who happen to own both the C-4000 and the S30, and who can give you a side-by-side rundown of each camera. Your best bet (in addition to reading the reviews here and also on Imaging-Resource.com) is to browse through both the Olympus and Canon forums here and see what others are saying about those two cameras. Then maybe you'll have enough info to draw your own conclusion as to which camera would be more suitable for your needs.

Good luck!
