Default Question about the 5050

I am probally going to be getting the 5050. I am trying to figure out how well it performs with fast action shots or just how quick it takes the picture after the button is released. I am pretty new to photography but I am learning as I go
thnks,

The 5050 is as good as it gets. The delay can be reduced by pre-focussing manually. It will also have (I'm sure) a continuous focus mode and rapid fire but at a reduced resolution.

Be advised, a digital camera that is not SLR will have a delay between seeing the picture, pressing the shutter, and recording an image. The trick is to minimize the delay. This can be done by going manual mode, prefocusing and setting fstop and shutter. Sometimes you can accomplish it by locking exposure and focus by holding down the shutter halfway.

The best way to overcome the delay is to anticipate and shoot accordingly. In sports know where the action is. With children . . . good luck.

There was a thread here somewhere recently about protecting your images on line. Had some interesting solutions - look it up.

Ron,
its not about being an slr or not: the 5050 when set up right will shoot faster than the previous slr models like the fuji S1. Especially on the hi-burst mode, when you learn to shoot just before you need to, with 4 shots in one second, you will get your wanted shot in one of them. Its also quite an improvement over earlier camedias.
