I used to own an Olympus D-340R. One of the selling points was that it had a glass lens where some others used plastic lenses.

I cannot find in the specifications if the D-435 uses glass or other material for its lens. Usually when manufacturers don't brag about it then they have the lesser quality.

Does anyone know what the lens is made of in this camera?

Thanx.

To follow up - Olympus returned my email and told me that all of their cameras still have glass lenses.

(subsequent events have made most of the previous post invalid...except for the art feature of Olympus Master 1.4 and earlier--it still won't work without a serial number that seems to be the exclusive domain of Xd cards sold directly by Olympus...)
