I have an Olympus 300/400 Digital that I purchased about 4 years ago which has had minimal use. Last night I was downloading some vacation photos onto the computer. I forgot about it and left it connected by USB all night.

This morning I put it in the battery charger assuming I'd drained the battery. It has been charging about six hours now and it is not charged yet. Did I kill the battery. If not, should it take this long?

Thanks/SK

SK-

Yes, it really should take that long. What you did was to ENTIRELY deplete the battery. A battery in that condition is hard to revive, becuse it is depleted well beyond the normal discharge levels.

Atthis point it will be touch and go. You may have to get an entirely new battery. But i would bive the charger a good chance to revive the excessively depeleted battery. You don't have much to loose.

Thanks MT. Yours arrived just in time as I was mulling about running to Best Buy and buying a new battery. I'll give it another go in the charger.

suds-

Also the cheapest source for camera batteries is E-Bay. I have aways been able to get good prices and Inever have had a problem with any battery.

Thanks for the Ebay advice. To update, another couple of hours in the charger this a.m. did the trick.

Thanks again.
