Default C-700 & batteries

I have a friend whom I convinced to get a 700 since the 2100 couldn't be found in any form..and he had found such a good deal on the 700.He said his c-700 doesn't have rechargable batteries.
Could someone confirm this for me..he's new to digital cameras and I thought for sure the C-700 was as the C-2100 as far as same type batteries.

The C-7x0 cameras come with non-rechargeable lithiums (which are great for cold-weather shooting, or leaving the camera unattended for a long period as these batteries don't discharge on their own). They are proprietary to the camera.

But the camera can use AAs as well. Don't use alkalines though, use NiMH rechargeables, 1800mAH or higher (I started out with 1600mAH, but now bought 2000mAH and they just last forever).

You should tell your friend about this site, and also the C-700 Yahoo group, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Oly_C-700/

Just want to add that you'll see the 4 batteries pictured on the bottom of the camera near the battery door.

Also, I suggest your friend read the manuals, including the reference manual on the CD (there's a lot of info there that isn't in the paper manuals).
