Default Am I in Macro Mode on my C4000 ?

Just got a C-4000 and think it might have a problem.

If I go to thte menu and select Super Macro. I see a little flower with an S by it so I know I'm in SuperMacro. That part works great.

If, on the other hand, I am just wanting to use regular macro and I go to the button on the back to select the regular macro mode or macro with spot, The little flower appears for about 2 seconds and then disappears.
Shouldn't the flower stay on screen until I select to turn the macro mode off?

Old Dog,

That icon, along with some others, will only stay displayed if you set the "info" button to on. Otherwise it goes off after a short time as you describe. To turn the "info" button on go into mode menu, then camera, then info and set to on or off.

Bill,
Thanks for the quick reply.
You are absolutely right. What a relief, I thought the thing was broken.
I went back and checked the manual. It is most vague on that function.
Again,
Thanks very much.
