II recently took pictures with my Fuji camera. I neglected to format the xD disk. Now I can see the photos on the camera viewfinder, but cannot download them. I get an error message "disc not formated." The pictures are important. Is there anyway I can save the pictures on the unformated disc?

Try DigitalImageRecovery - freeware.

That appears to be a bad link.

Here is a commercial (not free) program that may be worth a try, too.

If the two utilities I mentioned above can't get them back for you, here's a free open source program you may want to try.

It's designed to work with severely corrupted file systems by looking for header information specific to many image types in order to try and reconstruct them.

I have no experience with it. But, it may be worth a try. Here is the link:

I also could be your card reader. My San Disc Card Reader cme up with the same message when I started using 1GByte xD cards. I needed to get a new card reader. Try downloading via USB directly from the camera.
