Default where to find the Uzi...

You can find them used from stores and individuals, and also find refurbs on http://www.ebay.com

Also, some of the refurbs are direct from Olympus with a 90 day factory warranty.

Here's one of the refurbs direct from Olympus on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=30003. As with all eBay items, ask questions before bidding.

thanks for the ebay tips.
i don't quite feel comfortable buying cameras from Ebay though, is there an online store that perhaps might have it?

if i don't get an Oly 2100, is there another camera with equal or superior image quality that i can get?

There's the Panasonic DMC-FZ1, a 12x zoom with a stabilized lens that's not very expensive even though it has a Leica lens, around $500US. Less manual features then the C-2100 though.

Hi Dora...

Welcome to the forum

Good luck on your search for a 2100uz.

FYI, the ebay item in an earlier post is from
Olympus themselves.

They also offer a 90 day guarantee

thanks for everyone's suggestions regarding Oly 2100.
i read over some Panasonic FZ1 reviews this morning, the camera seems like a compelling alternative to the Oly 2100.

does anyone know how the image quality of FZ1 compare to those of 2100?

does the FZ1 perform well in low light as well?

Steve has a review at http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_reviews/fz1.html

The only downsides I can see (compared to the Oly) is that the Pan uses a proprietary battery, has no external flash capability (besides using a slave), and has no focus assist beam (probably unable to focus in very low light, see http://www.howstuffworks.com/autofocus3.htm for more info on how focusing works). Some people will see the fact it uses the SD/MMC card as a downside, might cost a little big more for memory but these cards are used in Palms and other PDAs so they are quite popular in that market.

:?: Has anyone had experience with indoor flash pictures with the FZ-1-- I read some criticism of this but wanted a user's perspective.

Hello

I have a 2100uz that I may be willing to part with plus some 120mb sm chips.

Have converted to Kodak digital camera (more compact)

I also have the ply 1.4 or 1.7 tele aux lens (not sure which one)

I went to a kodak dx7440 with 4x optical zoom but missed the 10x so much I just this week ordered a 10x zoom kodak.

Digital regards,

BiLL
