Default C4000 enlarge 3200x2400 option any good?

Hi there,

I initially didn't find that much benefit from these enlarged pictures(they have less sharpening and lower contrast) but I have noticed that it has much less noise than the SHQ pics which are upsampled in either Lanczos or Bicubic to the same size. Has anyone done any test to see? What you find?

People have stated that the enlarge option on the C5050 is better but I haven't heard much from the C4000 users.

Thanks!

Do your enlarging out of the camera.

Have a look at Genuine Fractals - a plug-in for PS6+, does a great job.

I agree with Steve6...any of the digital enhancements in the camera (including digital zoom) should be left alone and not used (because you won't have an original, unaltered picture), and should be done in the computer after instead on a *copy* of the original file. The idea is to get the sharpest, undistorted picture you can get, and then play with it afterwards.

Resampling is about 40% and that do it software of Olympus. I think that vendor of lenses, digicam know better to do it resampling in conjunction with lenses, electronic equipment etc. then other software vendors. Simple is that they know everything about "big picture".
