Default c-4000 vs. c-4040

I am trying to decide between the C-4000 and the C-4040 or C-3040. At this site and other review sites the sample photos taken with the 4000 seem crisper, richer, sharper, clearcolor than those taken with the 4040 or 3040. Is there a difference? there is a visible difference in the examples here at Steve's.
The dilema is wanting the remote and sound features of the 4040 but thinking the 4000 takes a better picture.
Would appreciate any input from people in the know out there.
Want to make decision soon.

I own the C4040 and it has produced excellent photos for me. The main advantages of the C4040 over the C4000:

1. Better optics for low light conditions the C4040 has an F1.8 lens vs the C4000 F2.8 lens.
2. Movie mode has sound. I do not use the function very often and could live without it.

The C4000 advantage over the C4040 is that the c4000 has a better macro mode.

Good luck

The C-4000 has a few other nice things, such as a real-time histogram and 4 MyModes. The construction is more plastic than the 4040, but this doesn't bother me.

The C-4000 is a nice camera. I have never had a 4040, so can't really comment on that.
