Default Has anyone printed in HQ quality before?

Just curious if any of you have ever printed an HQ JPEG quality photo before. I am somewhat "forced" to shoot in HQ 2288x1712 with my C-4000 because I only have 1 128mb card. Anyway, if you have, how is the quality?

TIA,

Oz

OZ

I have the C4040 and HQ is all that I shoot. I tried SHQ and could not see any difference in qualtiy. The quality could be more evident at 8X10 printouts but not at 5X7 and smaller.

Oz,

HQ will be quite adequate for most photos. I went on vacation recently and took most of my photos in HQ mode. I only switched to SHQ for those "special" shots in which I planned on doing some post processing on in PhotoShop. SHQ is most useful if you expect to be cropping or making enlargements, but even then it makes little difference.

The quality will be excellent for 5x7 and 4x6 prints. In fact, I'd challenge the average person to tell the difference! There is a very slight difference in quality of 8x10's, barely noticeable unless compared side-by-side with a SHQ print. Like so many others, I shoot everything in HQ mode.

While I agree with most all of the above, I shoot using SHQ, cuz:

1) memory is cheap enough to allow me to carry enough SM cards, and
2) I seldom know before hand if _this_ shot will be that 'special' shot that I want to submit for the Pullets-er prize (pun intended) an thus want to crop and tweak it with Photoshop (or in my case PSP 7).

Thanks-a-bunch guys.

The reason why I asked this question is because I'm getting a lot of attention lately as a photographer. Yes, I am in the works in trying to purchase a Canon 10D, but that's a bit down the road. Anyway, I just want to make sure that I can tell my "clientele" that they can print my stuff with no noticeable difference versus 35mm film. I do a lot of Photoshop work on all them though (Curves & Noise/Grain reducer at the minimum), which I hear degrades the overall quality. I have started saving them as lossless .TIFFs as soon as the original JPEG touches Photoshop.
