Default 2100 UZ vs 740/750 UZ

Hi,
I had the 2100UZ and was great.
I'm now thinking to buy the 740 or 750 uz, do you think they are comparable?
What about the electronically stabilized zoom wich is missing on the 7X0 ??

If you want to know what its like, turn off the IS on your 2100.

Unfortunately I sold it, and I never tried without IS!
Except the IS how about other features, are they comparable?

What makes the C2100 great is the IS. I compare it to an automatic and standard transmission on a car. Both can make the car go but the automatic is much smoother. The 750 is suppose to have some good improvements and should produce nice pics. The two items that they left off the camera are the IS and photo assist lamp. I am not ready to buy an ultra zoom from Olympus until they include these functions with their new ultra zoom cameras.

The 740 lacks external flash capability, and I'm not sure about the 750. Also, you must consider the fixed lens vs retracting lenses, and lots more goodies in the box with the C-2100.

Thanks for the advices!

Actually, I want to use the camera mainly to take pictures of windsurfing. It means fast moving and far objects in windy and sandy conditions! I borrowed the 2100UZ for some time for this purpose and I was 100% satisfied. Fantastic pics up to 13X18 printing with an epson840! Never needed higher resolution.

My idea was now: why not to have the same nice pics but with double resolution, i.e. with A4 printing capabilities? Moreover with a lighter and much smaller camera? But now I am realizing the importance of IS. I never tried the 2100 without, but although I am not expert at all I could take fantastic pics just pushing a button!

Do you really think I will not have the same good results? I may be ready to buy the 2100, but it seems the only way is to take refurbished camera in the US, for around 520US shipping included (EU). Do you think it worths? Is it safe to buy that way?

A friend ao mine also suggested the Panasonic - leica (Lumix DMC LZ1), a 12X optical with IS.
What you think about it? Have you other cameras to suggest that can fit with my needs?

Thanks in advance!

The Panasonic takes nice pics, has a longer zoom, but lacks the manual controls and settings of the Olympus-- it's strictly an automatic camera! Keep that in mind when making your decision.
