Default Supermoon!

Just went out on my deck to check out the "supermoon"... looks pretty much like a regular moon, but I guess it's a pretty cool astrological occurrence, for those who are into that stuff.

"Supermoons occur every time a perigee the point of the moon's orbit at which it is closest to the Earth and a syzygy (a full or new moon) are aligned, according to NASA."

There were people talking about how the earthquake, tsunami, etc. are linked to this, but of course there's no real scientific basis.

Here is one of a few pics I snapped. Even though the moon is very bright tonight - superbright, if you will - it's a pretty dark shot because I wasn't using a tripod, so I had the exposure at like 1/3200...

(The eclipse back in December was significantly more interesting to me)

Mmm, scary stuff (tsunami and earthquake). Quite sharp for handheld - well done.
Funny how we get a different view of the moon in Oz!
