Default The Canadian Climate

In light of the horrible cold that seems to be prevailing nearly everywhere in Canada - even in most of British Columbia - it may seem heartless to disclose that here in Victoria it started to snow late on Christmas Eve; that we woke up to a White Christmas, but that it began to thaw that very afternoon; that the thaw continued throughout Boxing Day; and that we were back to normal on the 27th.

It's now January 3rd. There seems to be little sign of any snow and I couldn't resist going out into our back yard and taking this -

G'day Herb

And around the same time, we in the great land Downunder were having roads closed as the sun's heat was melting the bitumen [black top] roads and cars were getting coated with loads of the stuff as they were driving along

NB- players at the Aussie tennis finals were playing in 69deg C temps in centre court .... stupid arrangement to be done in the main part of the day
