After putting my FZ30 aside for a couple of weeks while trying out the FZ50 and being badly disappointed ! I took my FZ30 today for a workout in a Wetland.

#1 is a small fly on a flower.......used the 6T Nikon closeup lens

#2 Couldn't find many Dragonflies sitting still so decided to shoot them in flight ! This was about 30 feet away shot with 12x zoom.

#3 I believe this is a heron or a dark egret?

#4 This looked like a young Dragonfly, much smaller than the others, and he was sitting but not not close enough to use a 6T lens, so went with 12x zoom.

Makes for a very convincing sell for the FZ30 without any added bells or whistles.

This camera as is makes for some outstanding images, of course, in the capable hands of you Jim. You sure know how to get the most out of that FZ30.

Wow, those are some great dragonfly shots. How did you get the focus so sharp on the dragonfly, in flight, 30' away? I've tried that a few times out here with just about 0 sucess. I get them in the frame, but no where near that good of a shot, way out of focus, blurry, small...
