Ted, The best winter weather is in the Phoenix area, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Scottsdale and Gilbert. The temperature averages from 60 to 70 at night and 75 to 85 during the day. You can usually count on sunshine almost every day! If your a golfer there are MANY courses in the area. Great places to see within 1 to 2 hours drive. Jim

There is a marker I think it was in the park that says 5,280 feet. 1mile high. Not bad winters at all probablu a couple of snows but the snow normally is gone by mid- afternoon. In the summer the mountain breeze plus being a mile high means nice days and not any way close to the hot in Phoenix.
