This morning I went into my garden hoping to find little bugs to try my new setup, Nikon 6T and Canon 500D close-up lenses. I've found two bugs, names unknown to me, one is green and the other red, LOL!The red one eats the leafs ofmy lilies and the other is munching on the yellowflowers of a weed.Green bug: 6T + 500D, Red bug: 6T only.
Resize only, tripod. Comments welcome. Emmnauel |

Hi Macnite,
OK that's it. I must get a Nikon 6T lens. Those pics are great! I especially love the "Red Bug" I love the detail of, color, how you got the "Red Bug's" background sonice and blurred out. Excellent! How close or far did the lens allow you to actually get to the beetle. Whenever I try to take closeups with the macro, I have to get reeeeeaaaaly close to get any nice detail and needless to say, that doesn't happen too often, well, unless it's a very slow or clueless bug. ha ha  Those are great Macnite, thank you so much for sharing. Thanks for your comments Teree. The red beetle is a slow moving bug which allowed me to get really close, approximately 25 centimeters (10 inch). The higher the magnification power of the macrolens, the shallower the depth of field is.
The masters of macro in this forum are: tchuanye, Narmer, fmoore, Sven and others. I'm way behind these guys, but I'm trying. At one time or another they have posted info concerning macro lenses, focusing distance and other particulars of macro photography. Ohh, one more thing, they stop making the 6T. Emmanuel |

Very nice photos, Emmanuel!! More power now with the Canon-lens as well (should be about +5 diopters altogether) so the need for full 12x zoom should be less. Good sharpness and detail as well! Like Teree, I really like the red bug with its clean out-of-focus background. It's caught from the same level as the bug itself which often gives nice backgrounds. Good work!!

Very nice and sharp, especially the red one. Seems to be the favorite.
Good going there, Emmanuel |

Thanks for your comments and encouragementPer and bayourebel. Per, the Canon 500D seems to be a nice companion to the 6T.

I like the last 2.
For the last one, its nicely taken. The beetle is too centered though, you may want to consider a portrait crop instead. |
