Hi all, Barker Dam was built in the 1930's. It located in the Joshua Tree National Park(which is the size of Rhode Island)in the High Desert.(There are 2 deserts in the park: the high desert, the Mojave and the low desert, the Sonoran. Cattle were brought to the high desert to feed on the lush grass and small dams were constructed to store rainwater. Barker Dam was one such dam. Also included some pictures taken on the hike to the dam. I hope that you all enjoy these..... bentleysmom

All very good shots but I like the landscapes and reflections. I still don't know how anyone gets that close to a dragonfly because they will just not let me. Those are my two favorite butterflies. That's because they are the only ones that let me take close-ups of them.
